Good afternoon!
Here is a preview of the cover to the new Saint John and the Revelations EP ‘Welcome’. It’s an homage to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John and a tribute to Seattle for welcoming me so warmly. Illustrated by Joshua Boulet. Limited edition, only 1000 copies.
Seattle area friends, I’m having a CD release party downtown at Bernard’s (the nicest&nastiest dive bar in Seattle) on Friday August 22nd. 8PM, no cover. Come by and get your copy of my new EP and have a fun night of live music!
Best,
SJ
I met Lou Reed briefly a few years back in New York, it was a fittingly odd and fun experience. He was a fearless music pioneer and forced songwriters to be more honest.
R.I.P. Lou Reed, your cutting and stark lyrics and music will be with us for a long time.
Love,
SJ
When I was a kid I loved big dramatic songs like this that had over-the-top intros and weird sounds and effects, Elton John ‘Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding’:
Also included on this melodramatic song list are a bunch of 1967-69 Beatles tunes, ‘The Unknown Soldier’ by the Doors, ‘Killing Moon’ by Echo and the Bunnymen, etc etc.
Enjoy!

Sometimes I say that “I’m wearing the duck suit to this show”, this is what I mean:
I’m not sure if that clears it up at all, but at least you have a better visual. Thanks, Elton!
